Leaven Community Invitation
Over the past year leaders in the LC Land and Housing Coalition have been accompanying The Presbytery of the Cascades and the Future Generations Collaborative (FGC) in their work on a "Land Back" where the former Presbyterian Church of Laurelhurst will be be gifted to FGC for Barbie's Village.
Atwai Barbie Jackson Shields (Warm Springs/Klamath) was a Natural Helper with FGC. When she passed away, the vision for Barbie's Village was born - a tiny home village for houseless Native women and children.
Please come and celebrate this historic moment and bear witness to the powerful organizing and life that is being nurtured through this unique Land Back collaboration with the Native community, the church and Laurelhurst neighbors. The Land Back Movement story will be shared at 5PM.
